Some programs state how 1 or 2 residents from the pool accepted will be required to do 1-2 years of research. It doesn't sound optional, but as if they will select the residents if no one volunteers. Anyone have any insight to this? Do they ask during the interview if one would be interested, or do you just get suprised in June/July of your intern year?
