Was wondering if anyone could give me some information on the UT-Houston program. My chairman really couldn't commit on the program that much and I was applying there for a 4th yr elective. Thanks

UT-Houston is a great program. I have a friend who rotated there and I interviewed there last year. Their faculty are great- especially the residency director Kevin Coupe- he is as big a resident advocate as they come. I am not sure how they are going to do the whole 80 hr thing as they were basically q3 in house for their PGY II, III years. It was one of my top picks. you may want to realize however that while they always mention that they are applying for a 4th spot- they have not gotten one, and that they typically take one resident out of their research program- so you are competing for 2 spots- that is if they don't take one from their own school. Hope this helps.
