Anyone with comments (positive or negative) about their personal statement on the interview trail have any advice?

(I know its often a very minor piece of the application at best, but I am sure that it has to have a little weight in some situations...)

It is much more common for it to hurt you than help you so keep it short and normal.

use it as a way to help guide your interviews. It gives some topics too talk about and some questions will arise from what you write. Use it to your advantage to take the discussion in a direction that will help you. Good luck
