I don't know much about st. luke's, but I'm a second year resident at nymc. We have two hospitals, the main one in westchester where we spend 8 months every year and St. Vincent's in West Village, where we spend 4 months. Very good trauma experience up in westchester, more community-type stuff at St. Vincent's. Last year's chiefs are doing fellowships at Penn-Foot&Ankle, Mt. Sinai-upper extrem, HSS-trauma, Mass Gen-Tumor. Certainly enjoying it thus far, and would recommend coming for an interview.
