got a rather interesting rejection today from wash U, which included the statement "unfortunately we are able to offer you an interview"

Luckily I didn't read anything beyond "unfortunately" so I didn't get my hopes up. They eventually sent out another email explaining the mistake and I was, in fact, shot down.

Just curious re: if anyone knows how late interview offers extend (December....). As I am sure is the case with many of you it would be nice to have more interviews however, many of the programs I have applied to have already granted interviews so I believe most of these will ultimately turn into rejections. I was wondering if anyone had some perspective/info from years past?
