Can anyone comment on which residency programs would be good for someone interested in a pediatrics or spine fellowship?

The best one would be the one you get into....

Seriously, it doesn't really matter, except that an academic residency would probably help you a little bit in getting into an academic spine program. It depends on what you want.

those are pretty different, so i'm guessing you aren't completely committed to either. some programs have to rotate out for spine and/or peds, so when researching you might want to take a look at what kind of exposure you'll get. peds is out there, but i've seen a few programs that seem to provide the bare minimum in spine experience. not a big deal for most, but if you think you might want to do it, try to find a program where ¥ou can really explore the field...

that said, agree with above--the best program is the one that takes you.

cheers.
