Hello.

I have listed a few big-name prelim programs on my rank list.

However, after looking at some specifics, it appears that PGY-1s at some programs do not do Plastics until their second year, yet it is a PGY-1 requirement for ortho. I think they have a set curriculum for the interns/prelims.

Will this pose a problem if I end up at one of these places and want to apply for a PGY-2 ortho spot?

Please let me know your thougths out there.

Thanks,
Jon

Most PDs at the programs will work with you. You can also take a month in the burn unit instead of plastics.
