One of my letters was just written this week, but has not yet been received by my dean's office. Does anybody have any experience with pending LORs or know if programs still download LORs after their deadlines have passed? Anybody have extra GI mucosa they can lend me

I hear you, 2003... it really blows! I bet it was a huge relief to get your LOR before all the Nov 1st deadlines. Fortunately I've already got all the LORs I need to satisfy program requirements. However, I would like to get this additional one added to my file. I can't help but wonder if the LOR would still have any impact if I were to hand deliver it to programs while there interviewing.

Podling, I know your pain man. I got my final letter in about 2 PM on the 31st. I missed the deadline for Colo, Wake, and one other program that I can't think of off the top of my head. Wake and Colo downloaded my letter when they downloaded the Dean's letter. I don't know if the will still consider the app since it was late, but they did download the letter.
