Just wanted to let all the third year med students know that UIC is a great place to do an away rotation. We interview almost all the rotators (unless you really tank), there is no call! You spend a ton of time with the attendings (most everyone rotates on sports and Hutch is awesome). Plus Chicago rocks!

UIC ortho program is not on probation.

That must be a recent change (as in the last couple months), as they were on probation as of the 2009-2010 application season (ERAS contains information on which programs are on probation).

Indeed, the probation was lifted after the application process.

what do you do on the away? Are there usually a lot of rotators? I've heard it's just two weeks of Hand and two weeks of joints. How do you get to know the residents without the neverending downtime of overnight call?
