Hey guys, haven't ever posted here... but have read anonymously for a while before registering. Check it out:

I heard from one of the faculty members at my home program that OHSU dept. chair Doug Dirschl is leaving Portland and going to UNC Chapel Hill to take the chairman position there.

Have other people heard this? Does anyone know any details?

Heard that this is a done deal. Dirschl is from that area and is supposedly very excited at the chance to return.

Dirschl is from Oregon, but trained at UNC. He a great advocate for his students and will do what it takes to get them into strong programs. Fourth year students at UNC should be making appointments to meet him asap. He is a top quality guy.

Bonus for the student that plays hockey.
