It's definitely worthwhile if you're interested in Jeff. They really give an advantage to rotators. You will work your butt off, but all the residents are cool. You do 2 weeks on Joints, and 2 weeks on Spine. The day starts at about 3:30 for Joints, and maybe 4:30-5 for Spine. Call is about Q4-6 for students, and you pretty much can go into the OR as much as you want. :pimp:

Saw, what do interns do at 3:30 am? I can only think of running the ICU, not what I would expect the ortho service to do.

By Thursday morning, the Joints service maxes out at 60-70 patients. They all have to be seen by the time the attendings start circling usually by 7ish. On top of that, there's conference on Thursdays at 6, so everyone has to be seen before that once a week. This is with 2 PGY2's, an intern, and however many students. Spine is the same, with less patients, but more painful issues.
