This is kind of a weird question, but...

My school only allows me to do Away Sub-I's in General Surgery. I'm looking for a program - any program - that would possibly allow me to occasionally scrub in with the pods, whenever I have lighter duties w/ my surgery rotation.

I'd really like to use my Away rotation to get the feel for an Ortho dept. But, I dunno if this setup would work.

Any recommendations on programs (community, academic, whatever) that would allow this?

Does your school understand the impact of what they are doing? I'm sure it's been brought up before with them. If not, then sound the horn for them. Maybe it won't help this year, but maybe they'll change the policy for future classes.

I think you should clarify for us (and maybe with your school) whether you mean you're only allowed to do an away sub-I in gen surg, or you're only allowed to do an away elective in gen surg.

My school only allows us to do (required) sub-I's in Medicine or Peds and only at home. Thus, I'm gonna be doing my sub-I at the very end of fourth year. I'm doing electives in Ortho at home and away at the begning of the year.
