I though it might be helpful to start a thread about away rotations and specific advice for different schools.

I am planning doing two rotations at some combination of mayo, wisconsin, u of washington and minnesota. Any advice on what services to request or other pertinent details would be much appreciated. I bet I am not the only third year that is looking to be as prepared as possible come summer/fall. Thanks

As far as rotating at Minnesota I believe that those who have rotated at HCMC and gotten a letter from Dr. Schmidt or Varecka, and those who have rotated at the VA and gotten a letter from Dr. Gioe have done well in terms of matching at Minnesota.

The other option is to rotate at the University, but that rotation is much more segmented because you spend time with a different faculty member every couple of days. It is great because you get to know everyone, but the negative side is that you might not get to know them all that well.

pm me if you have more MN specific questions. It is a great program!

With fourth year just around the corner, I thought I would bump this thread in hopes of some advice.
