I am a re-applicant this year and am planning on applying to a second specialty. My problem is that I have a strong geographic preference, which means the hospitals overlap. Can a program director or someone with experience applying to two specialties in the same hospital please give me some advice? I do not want to hurt my chances of matching in ortho, but I would hate to not have another option in the same hospital. What are the chances they would find out? If the ortho program finds out, I would think they would be understanding to applying to a second specialty after not matching last year. Any input would be much appreciated.
