Orthopaedic Research Fellowship
Cleveland Clinic Florida

We are looking for a candidate to start in January to overlap with the two current research fellows.

GOALS:
• Investigate basic and clinical aspects of the disease processes affecting the musculoskeletal system.
• Assist the members of the department with ongoing research projects, studies, manuscripts and chapter/textbook writing.
• Participate in research meetings, seminars, journal clubs, symposiums and professional society meetings.

PREREQUISITE EDUCATIONAL LEVEL OR CREDENTIALS:

• Recent medical graduates, residents, physicians and scientist interested in improving CV by conducting basic science and clinical research in the field of orthopaedics.


DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM
(may include research projects, conferences, and meetings):
• The term of research fellowship will be either 6 months or 12 months. Research fellow(s) will be working primarily on research interest on a self-directed basis with an emphasis on operative care (operative suite) and non-operative care (outpatient clinic office, inpatient and hospital care) assistance.
• During fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Florida candidates will demonstrate proficiency in the varied aspects of basic and clinical research including study design, IRB compliance, informed consent, data collection, data analysis, statistics, oral presentation, and manuscript preparation.
• The fellow(s) will be responsible for a minimum of one study to be completed for presentation at a local, regional, national or international research or professional society meeting and/or submission for publication in a peer-reviewed journal.

LEVEL OF SUPERVISION:
The fellow(s) will work under the direction of Gregory Gilot, M.D., Preetesh Patel, M.D., Juan Suarez, M.D., Brian Leo, M.D., David Westerdahl, M.D., and Evan Peck, M.D.
