For more than two decades, Orthogate has served as a digital home for medical students, orthopaedic residents, fellows, and attending surgeons around the world. What began as a simple link directory and early discussion board has grown into a vast repository of crowdsourced clinical knowledge, board preparation notes, fellowship insights, and peer support.
Today, we are excited to announce a major upgrade and structural modernization of the Orthogate platform.
This transformation upgrades our core infrastructure, streamlines our community discussion channels, expands our professional networking tools, and introduces dedicated career hubs tailored to every stage of an orthopaedic surgeon’s trajectory.
What’s New on Orthogate
1. Unified Exchange Forum
We have consolidated our discussion boards into a single, high-performance forum. Rather than searching across fragmented boards, all conversations, clinical case consults, and board preparation threads now live under specialized, role-tailored categories:
- Match Center: Real-time interview invitation trackers, residency match analytics, and ERAS advice for medical students.
- Locker Room: Confidential case breakdowns, call survival strategies, and peer support for residents and fellows.
- Surgeon Lounge: A credential-verified space for attending surgeons to collaborate on complex cases and practice management.
- Grand Rounds: Multidisciplinary case presentations and subspecialty second opinions.
2. Orthopaedic Professional Network
Peer networking is now fully integrated. Members can build verified professional profiles, showcase research interests and subspecialties, participate in activity streams, send direct messages, and join subspecialty interest groups across Sports Medicine, Shoulder & Elbow, Trauma, Spine, and Adult Reconstruction.
3. Expanded Career & Mentorship Hub
Career advancement is central to Orthogate's mission. We have launched two expanded portals:

- Find a Mentor: A 1-on-1 mentorship matching network pairing medical students, residents, and fellows with verified attending faculty for career advice, application reviews, and research collaboration.
4. Dedicated Patient Pathway
To ensure our professional clinical tools remain distinct from public health education, we introduced a dedicated [For Patients] gateway. This section provides plain-language condition guides, surgical procedure breakdowns, and a specialist directory to help patients navigate their musculoskeletal care.
