Duke Orthopaedic Research 2026-2027
HotThe Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Adult Reconstruction Division at Duke University is offering a one-year, paid orthopaedic research fellowship for a highly motivated MS3 or MS4 medical student pursuing orthopaedics and seeking opportunities to strengthen their application for orthopaedic residency programs. This fellowship provides a unique opportunity to work closely with Dr. Sean Ryan and the Adult Reconstruction team on high-impact clinical research in hip and knee arthroplasty. The fellow will collaborate directly with orthopaedic residents and fellows on ongoing research projects with strong potential for peer-reviewed publications and national conference presentations.
In addition to research, the fellow will be integrated into the academic environment of a high-volume academic orthopaedic center, with opportunities to attend departmental grand rounds, observe and assist in the operating room, and participate in orthopaedic conferences and educational activities. This fellowship is designed to provide robust research productivity, mentorship from leading arthroplasty surgeons, and meaningful exposure to academic orthopaedic surgery, making it an exceptional opportunity for students committed to pursuing a career in orthopaedics.
