The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Loyola University is seeking a qualified student for a paid clinical research fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery.   Students will have an opportunity to work with other faculty as well if desired.  Targeted Start date is July 2025 for a duration of one year.  We will consider undergraduate students, medical students between third and fourth year and graduated or unmatched medical students.

Each of the research assistants will work closely with Dr Nickolas Garbis and Dr Dane Salazar.  Expectations will include management of the monthly research meetings, coordination of paper submission, IRB communication, and recruitment of patients.  In addition, the research assistants work closely with the department research coordinator and the department statistician.  There will be plenty of opportunity to manage submissions to local, regional , and national meetings along with manuscript participation and publication.

Students can also get exposure to the operating room and clinic setting as desired.

Loyola University Medical Center is located just a few miles west of Chicago's downtown.  This provides ample opportunity to live in and explore the city, or alternately have a little more space in the suburbs.
