Mayo Clinic Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery Research Fellowship 2024-2025

Updated

The Mayo Clinic Division of Pediatric Orthopedics invites medical students to apply for a 1-year research fellowship with a start date in early summer 2024.

This position is ideal for a highly organized, motivated individual to strengthen their residency application and gain invaluable experience in research. Fellows will be responsible for a variety of research-related tasks and must have excellent time management and communication skills. The purpose of this program is to provide highly capable applicants with additional training in clinical and translational research, such as development of hypothesis, study design, statistical analysis, and manuscript preparation. Duties may involve maintenance of databases, collaborating with AI data scientists, completion of IRBs, and protocol construction.

Our fellows are welcome to further their orthopedic knowledge by attending departmental conferences, journal clubs, and division research meetings. This position provides large amounts of attending and resident interaction and ample opportunity to foster connections and mentorship, plus a formal departmental leadership curriculum for research medical students planning a career in orthopedics. Previous fellows with our group have been highly productive with multiple peer-review publications and national conference presentations.

Applications will be accepted through December 15, through a central Mayo orthopedic application process.
