excellent operative experience, exposure to all specialties and gets to do cases as a junior. it is a high volume institution and when you are on call, it is really busy since you cover VA, UH, and children's and have to walk from place to place frequently throughout the night. so you work pretty hard while you are there. at least while i was there, call was 1 out of 5 days and as a backup 1/5 days. cost of living is very very affordable. faculty was willing to teach but pretty intense, not that's a bad thing. residents were pretty cool but i think you have to fit in because it seems to me they were not a very diverse group as far as personalities go.
