ygree, I don't know but looking at like you don't have an interview now, and the worst that could happen is you could still not have an interview seems like a decent enough reason to try. The only thing I'd consider is if it wasn't a mistake but they give you an interview is that if you weren't their first choice to begin with, I wouldn't necessarily give up another interview elsewhere
