Battle of the Ivy's:
Columbia...hands down
one of the top programs in the tristate area, right behind HSS, maybe better in mamy ways.
Great lifestyle, great group of residents, cant beat NYC. The alternative is New Haven.
Look at where some of the chiefs are doing their fellowships.
First rate program all the way. :pimp:

I would agree. I am a second-year ortho resident, and I interviewed at both Columbia and Yale. Yale obviously has a great name, which lends itself significantly to the reputation of the ortho department. However, there are a few ortho subspecialties which are lacking at Yale. Columbia is an all-around excellent program in a much better location. The Columbia name ain't too shabby, either. Don't knock the emphasis on location--you'll see when you start your residency that location is KEY to enjoying your spare time (what little you might have). Take this with a grain of salt: I am not doing a residency at either location.
