Any information on this program would be greatly appreciated. They offered me a clerkship today, however, it was at a different date then I had specified (filled with their own) and now it conflicts with a different ortho clerkship I have set up. Bottom line: big decision time and I don't know much about the program. Questions would be attitude, OR time, Saturday morning conferences, and anything else. Also, am I or anyone else who doesn't rotate or turns down a clerkship stepping on a land mine? Thanks for any quick replies.

I haven't been there myself but being in the general area I have heard things. It has been said that it's a rather malignant program with the residents nicknaming the hospital "The Death Star".....that can't be good. On the other hand, I worked with a trauma fellow that did his residency there and he was a really nice guy. I have also heard from a friend who interviewed at UCSF that if you don't rotate there and get an interview...be prepared to explain why you didn't.
