Junior Orthopaedic FellowshipPosition SummarySaint Louis University’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery invites medical school graduates to apply for a one-year Junior Orthopaedic Surgery Fellowship, starting in the summer of 2022. This is an exciting opportunity for highly motivated individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in orthopaedic surgery. The Junior Orthopaedic Surgery Fellow (JOF) will actively participate in all aspects of patient care, ranging from preoperative planning to postoperative follow-up. In addition, the JOF will be actively involved in research projects both self-directed and working in coordination with faculty and residents.Program Strengths1.       Dedicated Clinical Faculty: JOF will receive mentorship and personalized guidance from leading academic orthopaedic surgeons.2.       Research Experience: JOF will have access to research staff including a research scientist, research statistician, and research RN. JOFs will have the opportunity to work on self-directed and collaborative projects with orthopaedic surgeons and residents.3.       Personalized Experience: JOF will have access to orthopaedic surgeons in many different sub-specialties. Approximately 50 % of the time will be clinical and 50% of the time will be dedicated to research.Ideally this position will start on June 1, 2022, and finish on May 31, 2023.To apply for this position, please email your CV and letter of recommendation to Janell Britton via email at janell.britton@health.slu.edu.The deadline for priority consideration is March 15, 2022.
