Just had a quick question about ranking programs as I begin to formulate my rank list. Hypothetically, let's say a program ranks you No. 1.

If you list that program on your rank list somwhere, am I right in believing that you can do no worse than match at that program (unless the program lied to you)

Also, if you are listed No. 1 on that program's rank list, and you put them 7th on your match list, then there is not a possible way that you could match at programs 8-15 on your match list?

So with the above scenario, your baseline is the program that ranked you No. 1, and then you simply move up on your rank list from that program if spots are available?

Thanks

You are correct...That is how I understand it to work. If you are ranked No. 1 by a program, you can do no worse than wherever you Rank that program on your list.

the same applies for any program where you are ranked to match i.e. if you are ranked 4 in a program that takes only 4 applicants.
