Hi,

I am in the process of finalizing my rank list and wanted some opinions on how one would/should rank these three programs.

I have no big problems with any of the cities and no fond affinity/hatred of any of them (although St. Louis is closer to Chicago).

It's really about the programs and where one would feel comfortable as a resident in terms of stability over a five year period.

Thanks.

Interviewed at all 3 last year. all three superb programs. Pitt is definitely going through more flux than the other two, although washU has potential to go through simialr changes should the chairman leave. Rochester continues to grow in terms of research, # of faculty and facilities. EducAtionally, there are many more "perks" at roch. free books, journals, etc. Also, WashU has daily conference which I thought was more helpful because it keeps things focused as opposed to the 4 hour marathon conferences that can exist at other places like pitt. If you are married, Rochester is not really a bad town, but not reaally a great nightlife. The bottom line is that they are large programs with great reputations and will continue to thrive despite all of the other information that yoiu hae been seeing on here. hope this helops.
