hi all
I'm an foreign medical student and decide to do my residency program in Ortho surgey, just wanted to know is there any chance for an IMG to get such residency and if so which univesities in US get residents from IMG's ?

Ortho is really hard to get into, however, if your are an excellent candidate, you can get pretty much anywhere. If you are not yet licensed, you'll need to hook-up with some big name in ortho and do research for 2-3 years and take the USMLEs (make sure you crush them). The research is obviously not needed for the license but is a "must" for IMGs trying to get into ortho. I know of a guy who did that and matched at Mayo.
