I have 2 interviews scheduled for the same date. One is at a place I rotated at and has a big name, the other is at a smaller program that I have heard decent things about but obviously haven't seen the program. Didn't necessarily enjoy my rotation and not planning on ranking them very high.

Would it make sense to skip the interview at the place I rotated at and take a chance with the other location?

this doesn't sound like a decision someone else will be able to make for you.

decide how much you disliked the program you rotated at, which you don't sound certain of, and maybe try to find out more about the other program.

then just make a decision and don't look back.

I absolutely hated one of the places I did an away rotation at and will not be going to their interview. Once I had another interview on that date, I dropped the interview at the place I rotated at. 5 years is a long time.

If you wouldn't want to spend your residency at a program, no matter how great the name is, don't interview there. You are wasting your own time, the time of the interviewees, and taking away a spot from someone who would potentially want to go there.

However, it is wise to go on as MANY interviews as possible. You don't have to search these forums hard to find cases where people fail to match even after going on 10+ interviews. Unless you would rather NOT MATCH than go to a particular program that invited you to interview, I think you should do everything to be there and put forth your best. For me... there are no programs I applied to (and I applied to a LOT) that fall in this category.

Consider that even if you hated your away rotation, it might be one of your best shots at matching assuming you performed well.
