first of all....good luck to all you 4th years. i appreciate all your advice too. i wanted to start a new thread with a diff. ?.
i would really like to do 3 away rotations: 1 full month, and then break up the other month with 2 diff. places for 2 wks each. However, the programs i've been looking at all say 1 month minimum. Is this concrete? i've heard other talk about doing 2 weeks at some places, but i'm not finding them. or is it where you have to ask them specifically?
thanks again!!!!

Its not really a good idea to try to split rotations, I don't know any that are 2 weeks although some might exist. Away rotations are hard in that it takes time to get acquainted, learn a new hospital, meet new people, learn a new computer system, notes, etc. It usually takes a full week before you really get the hang of a place. If you leave after two weeks you get less time ramp up and look like a star at the end.

I did three away rotations (1 early summer and 2 back-2-back late fall). Thats plenty of work. If you can somehow swing it, go for it, but I doubt you'll be able to get that plan to fly. :smokin:
