So I've noticed that a few other people have been having the same questions as me... Seems like people are starting to get their aways confirmed and want to know some more info about them (e.g. housing, details about the month, which arse to kiss). Rather than clutter everyone's board with similar posts, I thought maybe people could post their away rotation sites here and get answers to these questions via PM.

1. What are the best housing options?

2. Who are the attendings (or perhaps residents?) to make sure and get some face time with?

3. Are there any ways to impress that are unique to the certain site (other than what we've gone over ad nauseum, i.e. being enthusiastic, knowing anatomy, working hard)?

4. How do I get a letter of recommendation what I'm only with each attending for a week (if applicable)?

5. Any other information specific to the program which is worth knowing?

Personally, I am going to Campbell Clinic in August and probably Ohio State in October. Any thoughts on the above questions for these programs via PM?

Thanks!

Hey, I'm scheduled for a Sports Med away clerkship at UC Davis in August and just wanted to get a heads up on any info about the area, the housing situation and the program in general before I head down there.

Any info is appreciated, especially from people that have rotated there or go to school there.

"Hulk" has left really good advice the past 2 years. I followed his plan last year on my aways and feel that was one major factor in my matching.

search on "advice to medical students" (part 1 and 2)
