Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? I'd also like to hear more about this program, especially any changes (good or bad) since 'merger' with MCP Hahnemann. Thanks in advance...

Drexel is a middle of the road program with pluses and minsuses. The training is diverse and fairly well balanced. The attendings are dedicated to the residents. There have been a number of very successful graduates. The rotations provide a nice experience between community and university hospitals.

Rotations:
Hahnemann
Abington
St. Christopher's
Shriner's
Pennsylvania Hospital
Warminster

The name change to "Drexel" occurred officially 2 y ago, but MCP-H has been financially mananged by Drexel for a while longer. This isn't what would have affected the program as much as the loss of MCP hospital - some residencies (i.e. anesthesia) had to close down, and others lost spots. Fortunately, ortho was strong enough to have not been affected by this - also, there was literally no action at MCP for ortho anyway. The chair is really good, and the trauma experience has really been bolstered by the addition of a UW trained traumatologist. The sports experience is good as well. Downside (or upside for some) is that there is no spine, and they haven't changed to a nightfloat system. Hope this helps, pm me if more questions.
