The Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Division at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is seeking a U.S.-based medical student pursuing a dedicated research year to serve as a Clinical Research Associate for the 2026–2027 academic year.Cedars-Sinai Orthopaedics is ranked #2 nationally by U.S. News & World Report. The Foot and Ankle Division is led by Division Chief Dr. David Thordarson, with faculty members Dr. Timothy Charlton, Dr. Glenn Pfeffer, and Dr. Max Michalski.The selected Clinical Research Associate will work closely with faculty to develop, execute, and publish original scientific research throughout the year. Responsibilities include coordinating Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions, supporting prospective and retrospective clinical research studies, performing data collection and analysis, maintaining study databases, and entering data into electronic research platforms such as REDCap. The position may also involve limited patient interaction in support of ongoing research protocols.This is a full-time, paid position, and the selected candidate will be employed by Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented individual with strong initiative and a willingness to develop new research skills. The ideal candidate is a current third-year medical student planning to complete a dedicated research year between the third and fourth years of medical school and who has a strong interest in orthopaedic surgery, clinical research, or academic medicine.Qualifications
  • Current enrollment in a U.S. medical school
  • Planning a dedicated research year during the 2026–2027 academic year
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Prior research experience is preferred but not required
