Carolinas Medical Program and Fort Worth

unless you are an ex-olympian with a stellar app, you might be wasting your time at CMC. those spots are as fiercely competed for as HSS spots (if not more so). in my opinion, it may be higher yield to rotate at fort worth. however, you never know what may happen if you give it a whirl!! good luck, i am glad to be done with this process (for now)!!!

According to the chairman at CMC, you don't have to rotate to get a residency spot. In fact, they actually try to match someone who hasn't rotated. I think they don't want everyone to feel pressured to spend a month with them. If you want to, that's fine, but don't feel like you HAVE to. Hope this helps, Ortho2003.
