Wondering if anyone out there could share info on the CA Ortho programs, esp. maybe some of the smaller ones (Loma Linda, Harbor-UCLA, SF). Am originally from SoCal, doing medschool in the Big Apple, but hoping to go back home. Do CA programs favor CA students? Have heard that the SF Program is Female-Phobic now, any input? Any unhappy CA residents out there?

I wrote quite a bit last year about Harbor-UCLA. Search old posts, then feel free to ask any specific questions you still have. In terms of the female issue, they had a female chief last year and indirectly told me they were kind of looking for a girl to "replace" her. I don't know if they got a female in this year's intern class. So, if they don't have any girls now, it is not that they are against them necessarily. Their female chief was awesome and they were very happy with her.
