Just wondering if anybody knows the dirt on Alton Ochsner in New Orleans. What's the good and the bad about this place? I have heard that it's pretty nice but not much more. Thanks.

I do not know a lot about the ortho program but while in medical school in new orleans I did a few rotations at Oschner. Very nice place. Residents are treated very well there. Oschner is a large managed care company based out of this hospital so it is a community program. I think the biggest draw back would be very little trauma since most of the trauma in new orleans goes to Charity Hospital and the Oschner residents do not rotate there. Other than that I think this program has a good reputation. I think the attendings like to teach but again, I do not have first hand knowledge of this program
