Does anybody have insight into either of the programs in Akron (operative experience, attending-resident relations, etc.)? Thanks.

The general consensus from people I have spoke with and info I have gathered online, is that Summa is the stronger of the two. It is considered one of the top community programs around. Supposedly, you operate early and often at both programs and there are very few if any malignant attendings in the system.

I agree with 2003, I've heard nothing but good about Summa. In addition to early operative experience, the facilities are very nice and the residents are treated very well (free meals - a big plus for meatheads like myself). The only downside I suppose would be a five year tenure in Akron, but there are worse places.
