Job Title: Research Fellow - Orthopedic Joints & TraumaDuration: 1 YearLocation: Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MichiganAbout Us: Join the dynamic team at Henry Ford Hospital Orthopedic Joints & Trauma as a Research Fellow, contributing to research in orthopedic surgery. This 1-year, paid fellowship offers a unique opportunity for motivated US Medical Students seeking a career in orthopedic surgery to work alongside experienced faculty members and residents.Responsibilities: As a Research Fellow, you will work closely with 2 Joints faculty and 4 Trauma faculty. The position involves hands-on participation in various research projects, including patient outcomes post-total joint arthroplasty, analyzing predictors of patient-reported outcome scores, and database studies such as MTQIP and MARCQI. You will have the chance to attend grand rounds, resident lectures, and actively contribute to clinical duties and on-call responsibilities.Requirements:
  • Motivated US Medical Students interested in applying for an orthopedic surgery residency.
  • In-person presence is MANDATORY. Primary site is Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.
  • Demonstrated motivation for a career in orthopedic surgery, with a proven research interest.
  • Strong academic record and work ethic.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
  • Teachable and collaborative attitude.
  • Preferred: Experience in biomechanical research, prospective trials (including randomized clinical trials), and database research.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with data analysis and statistical software (SPSS, STATA, etc.).
