2024-2025 Orthopaedic Spine Research Fellowship

University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center
We are interested in recruiting a candidate for the 2024-2025 orthopaedic spine research fellowship position at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. This is a one year, salaried, full-time clinical research position during the academic year from June/July 2024 to May/June 2025 (depending on your medical school's academic calendar). The fellow will be involved in a variety of research projects involving spine disorders, spine surgery outcomes, and patient safety. Fellows will also participate in spine indications conferences and daily educational didactics with our residents, if interested.

Fellowship Goals and Responsibilities:
  • Learn to develop study design, submit study to IRB, and data collection
  • Writing and submitting abstracts and manuscripts for publications
  • Working with our statistician on the statistical analysis of data
  • Presentation of projects at local and national conferences
  • Organization of twice monthly Spine Section Research Conference
  • Mentoring of 1st and 2nd year medical students with their research projects
Eligibility:
  • US Trained MD/DO medical students who have completed their 3rd year of medical school or medical school graduates interested in pursuing a career in orthopaedic surgery/spine surgery.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently complete tasks.
  • Able to manage and organize multiple research projects and follow them to completion.
  • Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate anyone with requires a Visa.
