Cemented vs. Uncemented Total Knee Arthroplasty
Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is a surgical procedure in which the damaged surfaces of the knee joint are replaced with artificial components. There are two primary ways to fixate, or attach, these components to the bone: cemented and uncemented fixation. In cemented TKA, the artificial components are fixed to the bone using bone cement.
