The Division of Adult Reconstructive Surgery at the Hospital for Joint Diseases at NYU Langone Medical Center is offering a two year research fellowship for medical school graduates and a one-year research fellowship for current medical school students interested in pursuing orthopaedic clinical research.

The fellow would work closely with Drs. Richard Iorio, James Slover and Joseph Zuckerman, and other adult reconstruction attending physicians, orthopaedic surgery residents and fellows, statisticians and other research staff in the hospital, clinic, and laboratory setting. Fellows work in conjunction with attending physician mentors to develop and submit research projects. Raj Karia, Director of Clinical Research, is the administrator of the fellowship program.

As part of the clinical research data collection experience, fellows develop skills in patient interaction, learn and improve upon physical exam maneuvers, and observe orthopaedic surgeries. Individuals participating in this program would have the opportunity to accompany the adult reconstruction surgery team during morning rounds, listen to experts speak about current research during weekly Grand Rounds, and have the opportunity to become an important member of the NYU Langone Medical Center research community. Opportunities exist to pursue a certificate or degree in Comparative Effectiveness Research under the NYU Department of Population Management.

If interested please email Raj Karia at raj.karia@nyumc.org or Richard Iorio at richard.iorio@nyumc.org
