How much did "away rotations" cost you?

I would actually like to see some responses to this.. Trying to prepare a budget for the year.

Most were about $1,000 for me. Plan more if you're going to New York, Chicago, San Francisco

Was that only for room/board? Seems possibly reasonable for a small city, but subletting for a month in any big city will run you about 1k alone, not including food/expenses/travel.

I scanned craigslist and school sublet websites for cheap places to rent. I usually found spots for $500/month. That was Boston, Philly, Providence (Brown offered housing on campus for $500). Not always the nicest apartments, but for a month spent mostly at the hospital I was just looking for something walkable/bike-able that had a bed
