RIAO Orthopedic Surgery Research Fellowship 2020

The Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics (RIAO) at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore offers a two-year orthopedic research fellowship position with the Center for Joint Preservation and Replacement. This is a salaried position that will begin on or before July 1, 2020. Applications are currently being accepted.

This fellowship presents the opportunity to work with national and international leaders in the areas of total joint replacement and osteonecrosis, to assist with FDA trials of new drugs and devices, to gather and analyze data, to attend and present your work at regional and national conferences, and to prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Previous fellows have published multiple PubMed-listed articles and have presented at the annual AAOS meetings during their fellowships. This is an excellent way to improve your CV and increase your chance of matching to an orthopedic residency.

Almost all of the previous fellows (>98%), including allopathic, osteopathic, and IMGs, have successfully matched into U.S. orthopedic residency programs.

The fellows will work under the direction of:
• Ronald E. Delanois, M.D., Chairman of Orthopedics, Center for Joint Preservation and Replacement
• James Nace, D.O., M.P.T., Academic Director, Center for Joint Preservation and Replacement

GOALS:
• Investigate basic science and clinical aspects of total joint arthroplasty and preservation.
• Prepare manuscripts and textbook chapters.
• Present at research meetings, seminars, journal clubs, symposia, and professional society meetings.

PREREQUISITE EDUCATIONAL LEVEL OR CREDENTIALS:
All candidates who will be medical school graduates by July 1, 2020.
