The Cedars-Sinai Spine Research Program invites United States MD/DO medical students interested in taking a deep dive into clinical research, innovation, and collaboration with one of the nation’s top spine teams. You’ll analyze data, write manuscripts, and see how research directly drives patient care—all while enjoying life in sunny Southern California.
 Title: Clinical Research Associate
Duration: 1 year (can be extended)
Where: Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA.
Positions: 3
Start Date: May 2026 – May 2027 (negotiable, but recommended).
Salary: $19.50 - $32.86/hour


Responsibilities include:
  • Production of abstracts/posters/presentations/manuscripts
  • Weekly research meetings with Drs. Skaggs and Illingworth, and interface/coordination with 25+ other faculty, fellows, residents, students and permanent research staff

  • Dr. Skaggs fully expects this fellowship will put applicants in a strong position to match into Orthopaedic Surgery and will help mentor the candidate throughout the match process.
  • The fellow should expect to have 10-20 first-author peer-reviewed publications by the end of the research year
  • Opportunities to observe surgical procedures and gain clinical experience
  • Opportunities to present research at national orthopaedic surgery and spine conferences
