The Mayo Clinic Orthopedic Trauma Service (OTS) invites outstanding USMD/DO medical students to apply for a one-year funded clinical research fellowship position starting spring/summer of 2023.

This is an incredible opportunity to strengthen your CV for the increasingly competitive orthopedic match. The research fellow will have the opportunity to pursue several projects within OTS in addition to collaborative projects with other divisions in the department of Orthopedic Surgery. The Mayo OTS faculty include Drs. Andy Sems, Brandon Yuan, Woodie Cross, and Krystin Hidden. Research will include projects in general trauma, upper extremity, lower extremity, arthroplasty, and biomechanics. Responsibilities include project design, scientific literature search, data collection, statistical evaluation, and manuscript preparation. In addition to the research, the fellowship allows the opportunity to engage in several educational offerings, including morning trauma conference, weekly grand rounds, and a clinical rotation at Mayo Clinic. In addition to manuscript preparation, the fellow will be encouraged to submit abstracts to national conferences which they will be funded to attend. The year also provides daily mentorship with application feedback and interview strategies for a successful match into Orthopaedic Surgery.

To apply, email your CV, two letters of recommendation, personal statement, picture, USMLE Step 1 score report, and medical school transcript to Brandon Yuan (This email address is being protected from spambots.
