The Miami Orthopaedic Research Foundation in collaboration with the Larkin Community Hospital Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is seeking a highly motivated MD or DO graduate or current applicant (including unmatched applicants) for a 2-year paid Orthopaedic Research Fellowship. This position offers a unique opportunity to work directly with Dr. Arturo Corces, Program Director, and a high-volume adult reconstruction service, while integrating closely with orthopaedic surgery residents in an academically active environment. Position OverviewThe research fellow will play a central leadership role in all ongoing research activities within the department. This includes managing and advancing a diverse portfolio of projects across multiple subspecialties. MentorshipDirect mentorship from Arturo Corces, MD, Program DirectorClose collaboration with faculty on study design, execution, and manuscript developmentGuidance on academic productivity and residency application strategy  Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate multiple research projects across:

  • Clinical outcomes (retrospective and prospective studies)
  • Industry-sponsored studies
  • Systematic reviews and meta-analyses
  • Database studies

[*]Collaborate daily with orthopaedic surgery residents and faculty
[*]Assist with IRB submissions, data collection, and statistical coordination
[*]Maintain a high level of academic productivity, including multiple manuscript submissions and abstract presentations at national conferences

Ideal Candidate

  • MD or DO graduate (unmatched applicants encouraged to apply)
  • Strong interest in orthopaedic surgery
  • Demonstrated research experience preferred but not required
  • Experience with statistical analysis, RStudio, and REDCap 
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects
  • Strong writing and communication skills


Compensation

  • Paid position with salary support through institutional and grant funding. Specific details will be discussed during the interview process.
