Folks,

I'm a current resident of Union Memorial Hospital Ortho program in Baltimore (PGY3). Couple of changes made recently that may not be reflected in our website/residency app website yet.

We're in the midst of a transition to a 5 year residency (used to be 6 years). Incoming classes from here on out are standard 5 year tract. That means we lost our rotation with the FDA (no time), and have only 2 months of dedicated research (used to be 6 months). Those casualties aside, the clinical experience remains the same if not better due to some better scheduling.

Just wanted to get the word out to folks who might be considering Baltimore. I think the changes are positive overall, but that's my bias. Happy to speak more about the program here if you like, my email is gtg767x AT aim.com.

Stay Classy,
Alex
