The Michigan Musculoskeletal Institute is excited to offer a 2 year clinical research fellowship position under the direction of the Executive-in-Chief, Khaled J Saleh, MD, MSc, FRCS(C), MHCM, CPE.

This position represents the ideal opportunity for a highly motivated and ambitious individual to perform cutting edge clinical, translational, and health services research within the department of Orthopaedic. The goal of this fellowship is to strengthen the fellows application to the Orthopaedic Residency Match, as well as their future pursuits as a surgeon-scientist. This is a wonderful opportunity for a highly-motivated individual to gain experience and be extremely productive with multiple publications and presentations, while strengthening the application for residency. Previous fellows have successfully matched into competitive residency positions. The research fellow works directly under Dr. Saleh. The fellow will work on numerous projects under the direction of the team, with the goal of obtaining numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international conferences.

The fellow will function as a research coordinator for any new or ongoing projects. This involves functioning as a co-investigator on collaborative ventures with other faculty and partnerships

Position: 2 year clinical research fellowship.

The position is considered full-time employment and is salaried with health benefits.

Responsibilities and daily activities include: performing literature reviews; developing research hypotheses; composing research protocols; drafting and submitting IRB proposals; interacting with and recruiting patients in clinic; collecting, organizing, and analyzing clinical research data; preparing and submitting results for academic publication and presentation.

Goal: the fellow will acquire many skills that will help succeed as a resident and surgeon and get numerous publications, presentations at national and international meetings, experience within the clinic and operating room, and direct contact with many of the faculty and residents in the department of Orthopaedic surgery.
