The Washington University Orthopaedic Trauma Department is offering one Clinical Research Scholar position for the 2026–2027 academic year. This program, based at Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis, Missouri, provides a research experience focused on the the assessment and treatment of orthopaedic trauma. The selected scholar will work closely with Dr. Marschall Berkes, MD, and the rest of the trauma team. Recent projects have focused on orthopaedic construct comparisons, recovery trajectories, and the impact of surgical factors on clinical outcomes.Scholars will develop and complete longitudinal research projects while also contributing to ongoing studies. There is ample opportunity for publication.The position is open to medical students and recently unmatched applicants.The position provides a living stipend of $26,660.Ideal candidates are highly motivated individuals interested in orthopaedic surgery who demonstrate strong work ethic, teamwork, multitasking ability, and an independent drive to bring projects to completion.Application details: Applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
