The Rothman Orthopedic Sports Medicine Division is seeking applications to fill two full-time salaried, year-long research fellowships beginning approximately in June 2020 at both our Philadelphia and Southern NJ locations.  The opportunity is uniquely designed for outstanding M3/M4 students currently enrolled in medical school and targeting a career in the field of orthopedics.

Eligibility: Rising M4 (completed M3) preferred but others will be considered as well

Position: TWO Clinical Research Fellowships

Where: Rothman Institute (Philadelphia and Southern NJ locations)

Duration: 1 year competitively salaried position

Research Duties/Benefits:

The Sports Medicine Research Fellow will be integrally involved in developing, coordinating and conducting research of the division of Sports Medicine at the Rothman Institute and Thomas Jefferson University. This position offers the unique opportunity to work closely with our dedicated faculty, clinical fellows and residents on 40+ new and ongoing research projects. The Rothman Institute is widely recognized as a leader in orthopedics research and is considered one of the most prolific in terms of producing orthopedic literature. As such, applicants can expect a high-paced, dynamic research environment with many opportunities to present at national and international conferences as well publish in various peer-reviewed journals. This position will undoubtedly increase the competitiveness of an application in orthopedic surgery as well as be a wonderful opportunity to network with Rothman surgeons. Applicants will have ample opportunities to attend weekly didactic/grand round lectures and shadowing in the OR with various Rothman attendings.

Applicants will be selected based on their medical school performance, previous research experience and general interest in the available positions. Skills and characteristics that will be highly valued include but are not necessarily required
