A new opportunity has been created for motivated individuals to pursue research and gain clinical experience in orthopaedics of the foot & ankle.  Exposure to orthopaedic trauma will be part of the experience as well.

The Division of Foot & Ankle Orthopedics at Columbia University Medical Center invites 3rd year medical students to apply for the inaugural Columbia Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Research Fellowship, starting in the summer of 2022.

This new position will be an exciting opportunity for highly motivated students who are interested in pursuing a career in Orthopedic Surgery. This research position offers opportunities in clinical and basic science research, as well as time spent alongside two full-time foot and ankle orthopaedists in the office and operating room (Justin Greisberg, MD and Bonnie Chien, MD).   The research fellow will be expected to complete several research projects leading to publication and presentation.

The research fellowship is new, but there is strong history of research and clinical orthopaedics in our institution.  At this time, prospective students are invited to apply immediately (in April 2022) for the position, to start this summer.

A modest salary is included in the fellowship.  To apply for this position, please email your CV, USMLE scores (if available), unofficial transcript, and a brief statement of interest (limit to one paragraph) to Justin Greisberg, MD (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).  Although there is no fixed deadline for applications, we expect to notify applicants of the decision by early May 2022.

This opportunity is intended for students looking to take a year between 3rd and 4th year of medical school.  Students who are between undergrad and medical school, or those who have already completed medical school, might be considered as well.
